Don't mount them horizontally (and even then, it would only affect the lifespan of the fan).

What happened? @ $8/piece, up to 70CFA and below 19DBA of sound, it's not a bad deal even without the rebate.

There was some rebate messed between Newegg and Coolermaster.

As for the fan, its no where near 19db ( atleast the one I got ), yes it blows out alot of air but the noise goes up with it, its not the loudest fan I have heard but loud enough that its collecting dust, this fan is more like 29db.

Maybe I got a dud, hope someone else who bought this fan can chime in their experience, newegg's review seems like a mix batch, some complains about the noise and some say not very loud.

Mine is as loud as yours if not louder.
They obviously lie about the db to sell more and hope no one cares enough to call them out on it.
These fans are louder than my evga superclocked gtx 260 card at 100% fan speed.

Thanks. Good to know. I ended up buying their 2-pack of LED 120mm 20db 1200rpm which are not silent but not too bad noise wise.

I have 5 of these fans in my server at home...moderately quiet and run perfectly without issues horizontally or vertically.
