Thanks for sharing TG. I was able to spec out a better system than this yesterday with Dell's 35% off for around $50 more. I should of pulled the trigger but someone used the coupon as I was checking out...My sad story aside, I'm sure someone would want this if they couldn't get on the Dell deal yesterday.

However, even with the $100, Costco seems cheaper for a similarly equipped machine as it comes with an extra year of warranty, full version of Office, and 16 GB RAM (I know the RAM is overpriced on the Dell website, but still the warranty makes up for it....). Costco has two options - with and without BD burner for $100 difference.

OK - cool. Thanks. Now I just need to decide whether to pay for the Costco version or get this one. Been thinking about it since yesterday. I already tweeted AMEX, so I should get the $100. Need to see how much extra RAM and BD burner are aftermarket. I don't need Office as I have 2010 from my current machine and I don't care much about 2d year service since if it breaks, it will break within 1st year as machine will be on 24/7 (though all things being equal, I will take 2d year).

Only the $899 version comes with full office.

Purchase. Luke warm @ best.
There should be more deals on desktops.
They have been few and far between lately.
From what I am told Desktop Hard Drives have been in shorter supply than 2.5".
I also noticed the Outlet raised prices about 15% across the board on destops since the
first of the year.

I bought the Dell $799 model, but since I am not a Costco member it was $925 to my door. Not the hottest deal, but I needed a computer fast. I liked the extra ram as I do not work on computers.
