Thanks. What did you put in for the phone number? On my invoice, my number is listed on the "bill to" section but the "ship to" section has the generic 888-888-8888 phone number.
When I put in my own number, it brings me to the username and password section that I was talking about. When I used the 888-888-8888 number, it says "We were unable to find your invoice in our system. To redeem your rebate please mail or fax your invoice and completed rebate form to:
DTC Offer #
P.O. Box 1430
Mesa, AZ 85211-1430
We apologize for the inconvenience"
I have 2 orders and both of them do the same. Any ideas? Yes I put in my invoice #s, not order #s.
weird i put in the phone number linked with my paypal account when i checked out. It was a required field for the shipping/billing address.
This is what threw me. In order to check status, you have to input your email address. And in order for the "check status" page to recognize that email address, you had to have already provided it back during the "create an account" screen stage of the initial online rebate submission process. And when submitting that email address, it was also required to create a password. So while it's true that there is no "username" required in any part of this process, you did have to create an account consisting of both your email and a password.
Without it, there is no way for them to give you an update. Something got lost in translation here...
In any case, I provided my email and created a password as necessary, so it appears that I'm good to go. Got the "Thank you for claiming your rebate. Your rebate in the amount of $100 will be mailed to you. Please allow two to three weeks for processing time" message at the end of the online submission process.
Just got the tires installed at America's tire for $16/each. That price includes dismounting, mounting, balancing and disposal of old tires. $16/each is as good as at Walmart price, but much better service. Also, got their certificate for replacement/flat/hazard for $15/each.
Just submitted my rebate. Too bad I ordered on the 26th, looks like if I waited I could have done the Hankook rebate as well (started april 1st), and maybe the in-store price match and rebate.
Oh well, got a fair price still, and I really needed to get some new tires to get my winters off.
For once, being a procrastinator pays off!
I placed my Ebay Hankook Optimo tire order just an hour before the deadline (midnight on 3/31), which resulted in getting a packing slip/receipt dated 4/02 by the time they processed my order. And so it also qualified for the Hankook rebate period beginning 4/01. Just got the $50 Hankook rebate approval notice a couple days ago. $150 off in total with this double rebate deal.
Dragging my heels turned out to be a good decision (I hated missing out on previous deals where there were two concurrent tire rebates going at once so I kept putting off a needed tire purchase).

Hmm, I have been wondering why my rebate hadn't showed up and checked this thread to see a form had to be filled out. I was told by a discount tire employee that the rebate was through ebay so I figured I would get it back automatically. I tried to fill out the form and see that I am late by 9 days. Gonna have to try and file a complaint or something. This sucks.
