Issue with Staples card
Staples rebate card expired, I know, it was overlooked.So two days after it expired I emailed asking for it to be reissued and they want $6.50 to do that. Should they charge to reissue an expired card? I can see that for a lost one, but not simply expired. |

Also, The card was valid for 1 year. No maintenance fee for 6 months. After that $3 fee/month. So for the first 6 months = no fee. Last 6 months = $3/month fee = $18 You already lost $18. To reissue it will be $6.50, for a total loss of $24.50. What was the value of the card.

Gawd, that reminds me of the time I inherited some property including an abundance of hazardous chemicals.
I received a letter from the estate attorney advising me they need to be properly disposed of and to send them a check for $18k for the expense. They actually tried taking me to court on that claiming it was my property in the deceased's residence. Luckily the card only had a small balance, but it's wrong they suck it out. |

It went to court. Actually, the lawyer that wrote the will took me to court about it.... asking for an interpretation. I got everything I wanted from that event.
Long story short, the estate bore the cost but the executor also saw too it that heaps of valuable things disappeared (stolen) without being accounted for which were also left to me. That's not all. I got his car, too. It was a nifty Ford wagon that had some 18k on it and was 7 years old. Shortly after I registered it ( it took almost 3 years for the title transfer to go through the estate) while driving down the turnpike one day it instantly overheated and the engine cracked. I found a heater hose popped off it's fitting as a result of a rusted through steel radiator hose worm clamp. No value to the junkyard back then, so I sold the cat converter as scrap myself and let them take it. That carp should never happen to anyone! I think the guy that left me this stuff would be turning over in his grave. Oh, Staples sent a check for the balance. |
