I bought at a store just now for $167.98. I asked the associate what price they were, and at no point did he actually scan the price. He just looked at the sticker and said the sticker price. I didn't want to get on his bad side and ask him to scan/check, so I mulled over it for a second, and decided to just buy it, figuring I can try to return/rebuy @ a store that has the lower price. Worst case, I'm returning it. At the register he manually entered the price as well, which seemed kind of shady. Maybe he's planning on buying any remaining ones tonight? Or I just got stuck with a new employee?

So I guess I'm wondering:
Will target allow a return/rebuyto get the lower price at another store (does it have to be in stock to get the match, are they only interested in "their" system price, or is it very much up to manager discretion/whoever is working guest services?

um ymmv on return/rebuy at a lower price...what you can do is said you would like to put it on a different credit card...depend on the csr at the time if she/he let you do it...different target will have different clearance price but most of the time they all are at the same times..usually target mark down their electronic on Monday so gl...

ps next time if you want to do a price check...write the DCPI number and go to one of their price scanner...type in the number and you can see the current price yourself...no need to ask them

Great info, much appreciated. So they have scanners throughout the store where you can manually enter the DPCI w/o approaching the associates? I've never noticed them, but I've never been looking that hard, haha

If it was a long clearance sticker with a barcode as in the picture from the OP, then those are accurate prices. Only the little orange price stickers can change in value. The longer ones with barcode are what they say, since they are usually items which have been returned or came from online sales which were returned etc... Chances are, at your store that was the going price. Not much you can do besides returning it. At least that's my experience.
