Assuming it has something that you really need, I guess so. However, I would wait a bit and run the laptop thru it's paces and make sure everything (ports, wifi, bluetooth, blueray, etc, etc) works well first. That way, when you install ultimate (and all the drivers, of course) if you run into a problem, you will at least have a baseline so you know what used to work prior to Ultimate and the driver re-installs. Also, if there turns out to be a hardware issue, I am sure Lenovo support (like all support, regardless of brand) will give you a fair amount of grief saying that the issue is the new version of windows). I always recommend a good 48 burn-in period on any laptop purchase (but especially used/reburbs). In my experience it is always alot easier to deal with sales than support regarding a lemon issue. It goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway) that you would want to create restore disks for the system prior to installing Ultimate. And make sure to download ALL the Lenovo drivers for all the devices prior to bothering to install. With another machine you can always find them, but if there are issues locating one of them, it's better to know before you are half way thru the Ultimate install. But like the blackblaze said previously, if you got it, and need it, then sure, why not? On another note, glad to hear you all are having success with your orders. Question: On a previous thread about this same deal, it was mentioned that this unit (at least the dark brown ones) comes with a USB 3.0 port, even though there is no mention on the (admittedly skimpy) website listing. Anyone care to confirm if this is still the case? (As I understand it, it is normally blue in appearance to differentiate it from other USB 2.0 ports). Got mine as well.
Spent the last day doing windows updates and adding office, transferring data from my old laptop. So far it's been fine. Verified the warranty is 1 yr. I like the feel of the keyboard keys. The label says USB 3.0 support(optional feature only for descrete configuration) but no blue USB socket. Had to get me a 17.3 messenger case to carry it. Speakers are definately better then any of my previous Acers but I still think they could be better. (I'm getting old). Overall, I'm happy with the laptop and the price with all the included features.. |

The label on mine also says USB 3.0 but the file transfer is really slow. Does anybody know for sure whether it has USB 3.0? |

The case on the other hand is the same for various G770 models so I would not go by that at all. (That is why the stickers even say USB 3.0* since the cases are the same, which leads me to believe that you can only go by the port color itself). I could be mistaken, but I am 99% sure that this is the way it works. Last edited by QuestorJones; 04-03-2012 at 11:05 AM.. |

I saw the same sticker but it came with a * next to it which said something about certain models my have them. Look around the net and all have 2.0 for my G770 model.

I'm probably better off selling it on craigslist since they're going for less on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/120881055734 |
