office max changing ink recycling program starting 4/1/2012 for the worse

They'll take any brands as long as it's not remanufactured.

Terms says "Excludes remanufactured cartridges of any brand."

I don't know what people bought to unlock their multiple accounts rewards. Laptops, desktops, etc don't count. You can buy paper, etc when they have FARw in Jan/Feb but they limit 1-2 per account. You have to buy lots more up to the max $720 per account per year.

It used to be worth it when they let you use rewards to buy GCs. Now their registers will stop it.

Supposedly as long as they arent generics....Which never bothered me because I would buy generics and then re-label them with printouts I made myself with some label paper I got a ton of back in the day for free.

Thats right, I MADE my OWN HP labels from generics. These assclowns @ omax couldnt tell the difference. LOL

ANd I recycle about 30 per month not 18 and I have a few other golden geese I have going with these guys, so I'll stick with them..

how many stores are around you? the stores here are really suspicious about coming in often to recycle and/or spend reward money. in fact, an old woman that works at a store here made up a new rule today - she said they couldn't take my 20 carts because they were all the same kind and people are buying them online for 3 cent a piece. she has been there for at least 5 years and for some reason ink recycling pisses her off. i proceeded to call corporate and they told her she can't do that. Last month a manager from another store was behind my car taking my tag number when i came out. he always hassles me when i come in to recycle...one time he asked me if i had already recycled for the month and i said no - he replied "you know we can check the cameras right?"

im really surprised you are able to do so many without tons of hassle from managers and annoying employees.

LOL. Ive had that same problem with 2 of my 5 stapples near me....So I seldom go to them more than once.. The other 3 like me much so no problemo there.

As far as Omax. Like I posted earlier, I have 6 . Make a circle, put me in the middle and the furthest one is about 12 miles. I just do a clockwise run and hit em all without backtracking and sometimes Ill go outside the circle and drive south and hit another to change it up or if Im gonna be down that way anyway. Me and the ole lady actually did that run yesterday as its a nice place for lunch near the beach.

I do have ONE Omax store with one particular clerk who acts all anal whenever I recycle. She apparently thinks it's a PITA to do this.. So I wear my cargo pants with the ink in the big pockets.. If she isnt working or if she isnt at the register, Il recycle... Or Ill usually call and ask if shitdirtbaganalretentivebitch is working.
If she is then i'Il skip that store. The great thing is that staples is also along that route and sometimes Ill do all 11 in one day.. but I get burnt out doing that.

Its not rocket science to break the coupon code. Id tell you but there are many more lurkers reading this just waiting for the opportunity to pounce...
I have actually done it to a few scammers that sold on ebay. I bought their coupons then the next few months I ......well, I cant say what I did, but the selelrs got some irate emails from people they sold to the following months.

I just get my coupons and immediately buy a pack of mentos or a coke and get the receipt with $38.## balance on it.

While there is no limit to the number or brand of ink or toner cartridges you may recycle, you will only receive rewards for the qualifying items and limited quantity noted, and the total amount of your recycling rewards issued cannot exceed your total qualified purchase amount in your MaxPerks account.

Says they are "expanding" their rewards program - LOL! I guess expanding means dropping to $2 and to 10 carts/month. It looks like they will start accepting other brands now instead of just Lexmark and HP.

Hopefully they don't touch the rolling over of rewards, this is bad enough news!

The good old days of recycling are over. Loved buying cartridges through ebay back in the bing CB days and doing the bulk recycling with OM. At one point, I had over 2k cartridges a month being recycled. Sniff - I miss those days.
