Samsung Galaxy Nexus Unlocked @ Amazon $528 + FS

I think the nexus phones always come out near November or December. I'm geeked because I just ordered this phone for $300 after converting all my bestbuy credit to amazon gift cards. My new toy will be here tomorrow.

The Japanese Nexus can only be unlocked with root and it is only temporary, the phone is relocked when you do a factory reset or flash a new rom.

There are services that let you buy things from Japan and have them sent to you for a fee, so you can all stop breaking the rules and getting your posts deleted.

I'm in Japan and am curious about the possibility of multi-band usage or compatibility with both countries. Can anyone else confirm the ease or difficulty of enabling the Japan-market phone for usage in the states?
It'd seem to be cheaper and easier for me to order and pick this up here- plus I'd be interested in knowing so I could help a few of us out by getting some extras sent over to the US or wherever.

Any takers? I'll look into buying another couple or more handsets if anyone wants to get in on it.
