I just received an email from Expansys informing me the lens was shipped via Fedex. I still have my doubts......seems too good to be true!

I called them and CS said it will be in stock but with receive shipment in June. She was firm with shipment coming. Don't cancel. They will not charge CC until they deliver

Yeah. I called a few times too. They all has different story to tell. One said they will be in stock on the 16 or 20 this month. Once said the late May. Even if they has it in stock, it will be a few. I'm in the #32. Last time they have 4 in stock and already shipped. One good thing about them is they will not charge your card til they ship. Their CS still sux.

You apparently also don't like to be able to blur the backgrounds or have respectably sharp images. Buying an interchangeable lens camera and then using only Nikon's crappiest lens on it is like buying Lance Armstrong's road bike and sticking training wheels on it. Go buy yourself a 35mm f/1.8G and an 85mm f/3.5 micro and you'll quickly change your tune (those are the first two lenses that a DX camera user should get once they're ready to try new things). Don't get me wrong, everyone should learn with the 18-55mm because it's a great training lens, and at the beginning of a photographer's journey it will help him or her learn quickly, but at some point, it's time to grow up and move on to the big leagues. For portraits and other short telephoto work, this 50mm lens is one of the cheapest ways to do so, while still retaining professional image quality.

anyway, i bought the 35mm 1.8G and it's on the body 75% of the time. i have to talk around a bit more but the quality and the low light ability is worth it.
got it for $190, which was a solid (not super slick) deal.

I got the same lens from CL yesterday. Seems brand new and got it for $160 with all original accessories

Congrats!!! My order status still say " Awaiting Stock". Please give us some update once of you received the lens. Condition and how you like it.

Just received the lens, delivered by Fedex. The lens is brand new, comes with the lens cap (front and back), a lens hood, and a lens pouch. The warranty card states that the Distributor is Nikon Europe B.V. So my guess is that there is no free 5 year extended USA warranty that comes with Nikon lens purchased from authorized US dealers. The card does state that it's covered by "Nikon's Worldwide Service Warranty for one full year from date of purchase".

Nevertheless, I'm excited. I fired a few quick shots and it's clearly a nice upgrade from my 1.8 D lens. For the price, it's hard to beat!
