that $100 rebate is kind of hard to swallow but worth it. by the time that $100 cames back i can use it to get a mid release Kepler GPU

that's kinda a broad statement. they make crapload of products..so maybe you should clarify?


if you mean their sata iii ssd's then it's due to chipset and was mostly fixed in .15 bios

yes thats true. they make a boat load of products and when it comes to that kind of volume their going to get some DOAs and bugs for sure. (even intel has problems even though its rare)

If you use this as a straight forward boot drive you shouldnt have any problems.

It looks good at first glance, but this is really only 128GB of SSD, and a 1TB Toshiba 5400RPM laptop drive. Intel SRT or the Seagate Hybrid are better bets.

I dont think it'll work as anything else. I would recommend reading reviews on newegg.
It seems to be very good product at a very good price if you can get it to run... Likely need a motherboard which has been verified to work.


So, if you are building a new system and have not yet bought a motherboard, this would be a great option.

the reason i think this is a good deal is because a 1tb hard drive 2.5" cost over $100 (thanks to the flood) and the 100-128gb (cant recall) thats built-in also cost over $100.

1x OCZ Solid 3 SSD in my Alienware laptop
1x OCZ Agility 3 SSD in my girlfriend's machine
1x OCZ Agility 3 in my friend's system that I put there
1x OCZ Vertex 3 in my coworker's system that I put there

Zero problems. Excellent performance.

In addition, their support is top notch, especially if you go to their forums where they have employees actively pursuing issues and assisting users with their problems.

your referring to the staples hard drive deals? those are huge 3.5" bricks thats dirt cheap sometimes when you buy the 25-30 off coupon.

since this is a PCIE drive... does that essentially mean this is for storage purposes only and cannot be used as a primary boot drive? Anyone know? thanks!
