Need New or Used Copier /MFP for Small Biz Replace Canon IR 1023if

I bought a Canon IR1023if about 2 years ago with 65k copies on it. We use it as a primary fax machine, printer, and copier in a health care office. Printing between 2k and 5k/month.

We're at 170k now and getting the right 30-50% of the page faded printing, on any output. My copier repair guy says a chemically treated "toner transfer roller" isn't picking up the toner for the full width of the roller. It would be about $400 to fix... Then he's got all kinds of alternatives for me, most of which are end of lease / refurbs. My biggest concern here is that we'll be in the exact same position in another 2 years.

I'm tired of buying a new "used" copier every 2 years and I'm thinking about buying something new or getting into a service contract. I thought I would post here to see if there were other small business owners with similar experiences.

Concerns:

• Toners for this canon unit were about $45 for 8,400 page rated unit.
• Newegg has a Samsung MFP at a decent price today but toners are $60 for a $2,500 page rated unit
• Must have standalone fax, ADF, and Copy Function, Network Printing
• Prefer desktop model over full console. would go with console if it has small(ish) footprint.

Corp decided we'd use Ikon for our printer servicing, maintence, and toner contracts.

I never see the bills but we use some Ricoh 2550 and a color Ricoh 2800. These printers are MFP - fax and scan. They've been solid machines for the last 2 years for us.

$400 to fix doesn't seem all that bad, especially if you get another 2 years out of it. How much did you pay for it in the first place?

Around $700 (again, end of lease equipment).

So we're talking around $30/month to this point just for the copier, no toner, no maintenance. If you add those in I am thinking I can lease a brand new machine for 40-50 a month maintenance & Toner included.
