Thread Details

It appears AutoNation Direct is selling 29 new 2012 cars in 9 days at 50% off the MSRP, you have to pay cash for it, no financing, its first come first serve once the ad goes live! Only thing that scares me is the line

"Buyer must agree to sign a talent release to be used for public relations purposes." - Not sure what that means..

Wow, no MCO and no temp plate, not good press for AUTONATION!

Your state might give you a temp plate if your nice and explain the situation to them.

Yes...I have it! Really like it! Mine didn't come with any paperwork, other than the factory manuals and the original window sticker. It also didn't come with a temporary plate. In order for me to register it I need to get a state inspection done, so I hope that they can issue me a temp plate (scan it and email it to me?).

I will be doing this in the morning.
I don't think the out of state dealer can issue state inspection or temporary plate can they? I doubt the have 50 states wroth of temporay plates on hand lol, I just don't want to register to the car becuase it'll be expensive as shit, I just wanna keep it in my driveway till I get the title and can sell it off

Temp plates, titles, registration, inspections, vary in every state, only you can get the answers at your state DMV!

With that said the MCO is the king in every state and is a must have.....

Yes, they can..I asked specifically before mine shipped and they said they would...we'll see if they actually did it though when it arrives.

I called my local DMV this morning, they said I can get a 20-30 day temporary plates as long as I have the bill of sale / retail purchase agreement, and than once the title comes in I can go down and get it registered, seems easy enough

I just typed up a big date on a piece of paper in word and stuck it in the back window and the front windshield.

why do I need the MCO? I've heard that typically dealerships take the MCO + the Bill of Sale and mail it in with the title request

From my understanding...unless he has a car business license...he will need to transfer ownership to the title in his name...then sell it.
