Where to put money for down payment?
I have saved up a down payment for a house which I plan to purchase within the next 6 months to 1 year.
Right now the best interest I can find is Amex savings at 0.75% APY. I know there me be others that offer slightly more, but as far as savings account, I'll leave it there for now.
I was thinking about putting it in Vanguard low risk mutual fund. Seems like I can get 2-5% with really low risk (According to their research tool).
Anyone have any other ideas on where to put a downpayment that I would like to be able to use in 6months or so? I know the safest is a savings account, but it would be great to get more than 1% interest.
Thanks!
