I see $25 at ShowBoat through Thursday night, then $159 for Friday $299 for Saturday night.

That's why I don't go there on Friday or Saturday nights. If you want to go on a Friday or Saturday night them it's much cheaper just to stay in Galloway or someplace else just outside the city.

Yeah atlantic city and weekend deals just dont really go together. I was able to get the trump plaza for fri and sat night stays a few yrs ago through a 3rd party website for $100 a night.. Really Crazy when I saw the price. told my wife we're going no buts about it. I checked again few weeks ago $190 total 2 nights for the summer if i stayed sun-tue. $600 for fri-sun. This was for the showboat. I would go to atlantic city much more often if they would stop being so damn $$ with their rooms. good luck. With a weekend stay you may just be better off going to vegas

Vegas is expensive on weekends as well. But Atlantic City is really cheap on non weekends, even in the summer the rates are well below other places on the shore.

Thanks for the advice guys. I ended up booking a 1 bedroom suite for 2 nights 3/30 - 4/1 at the Atlantic Club Casino for $578. Not a slick deal at all but it was the cheapest on the boardwalk With that price I should have just gone to Vegas!! But there are 6 of us going to AC so flights to Vegas would have been a killer.

I just spent a weekend at the Tropicana. Go elsewhere - the room wasn't bad but wasn't very nice either.

wow I feel for you. I booked a suite in the town next to Atlantic city for $160 on a saturday night. I'm driving down, so being on the boardwalk is not necessary.

Would you have been OK with the room if you were paying the weekday rates?

I've stayed at the Tropicana and my only issues with the place was the check in and check out lines.

I don't know what I paid. It was part of a package deal that I had to buy while playing in a hockey tournament in town.

The check-in lines sucked. Also dragging a suitcase and a hockey equipment bag through a casino sucks.

I go to AC a few times a year and prefer Caesars, for a boardwalk hotel, to any other. The Taj Mahal is a dump. It's dirty, nasty & many of the staff need social skills training to say the least. Bally's check-in & check out lines are a nightmare.

I love the food counrt at Taj. Almost all or all the casinos have emloyees that can be surly. They are in a union and cant be fired, but I hav never encountered one that was not nice. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes to check in or out at Bally's.

Last we stayed at the trump plaza and their was almost no lines at all. That was on a friday afternoon check in. Last year we went to las vegas, of course vegas blows Ac away. I still enjoy Ac because I can drive there and make it a quick weekend trip. Inexpensive breakfast is our only real concern when we go there.

Well, the last time we ate the Taj for a buffet breakfast the hostess stood there munching on dry cereal from a small breakfast cereal box. She chewed with her mouth open no less. If she was hungry, she should have taken a break and gone have something to eat. Shortly thereafter I stopped to ask one of the employees directions and she snapped her gum repeatedly while I talked and then said, "I dunno."

I have been going to AC casinos since they opened, that's how old I am! The Taj was really a wonder in it's day but now it's old and worn and there is little to no upkeep. I did write the Taj after my last stay and said what I had to say and they never responded which is no big surprise.

As for Bally's, I was in line for 30 minutes to check out and one guy had to be removed from the line and taken to a back office because he was flipping out over the wait. I imagine the wait in lines all has to do with timing and the number of people working the desks although at Ceasars I have never had an issue with waiting regardless of the time. Ballys kept trying to get people to use the machines to check out which I refuse to do because if everyone used machines all the time then more & more people would be out of a job.

I strongly advise anyone going to Atlantic City to avoid the buffet. Only The Borgata has a good reputation when it comes to that. Especially along the boardwalk, there are so many better and cheaper places to eat

In so far as long lines to check in or our, I don't stay on Friday or Saturday nights, so I haven't experienced them except at the Tropicana on a Sunday afternoon (probably would have been OK if I had gotten there earlier though.
