I Am Now Tablet - Less, And Enjoying It!

Sold my 7" Galaxy Tab (original) and I don't miss it one bit. Didn't get much for it, but I don't have to look at it sitting on the floor collecting dust. Got an HTC Amaze 1 month ago and have been using it since. It was an oversized phone. It got to the point where I wasn't even taking it on vacations with me. Now I know why people don't buy these. If you are on the fence, a bit of advice: don't bother. Put your money into a damn good smart phone and that's all you'll need.

This was my 3rd tablet. I gave away the first two I bought to my Auntie and my mom. My auntie doesn't use hers. It sits in the box. My brother took my Mom's tablet to his house and I haven't seen it since. Doesn't seem like others in my family use their tablets much either.

Makes sense to me. Well, except for the part about wasting money on a smart phone. I don't need that either.

I'm still waiting for the next innovation. I think tablets are the stepping stone to something actually useful. But until that useful thing comes (windows 8 maybe?) tablets are just a show piece. Not really useful for anything but watching movies or playing stupid little time wasting games.

I use my iPad every day for my job. I also know that my customers use it for their jobs on a daily basis. It may not be useful to you but tablets are useful to many industries.

Computers are useful to all industries, tablets are useful to many industries. See the difference? I'm just waiting for a product (probably like a tablet) that is useful to all. I don't know what that product is (if I did I'd be a millionaire), but I want one when it comes.

I see the difference, I just don't care about it. I only care about whether a tablet is useful to me or not--and it is. I have three, an original iPad, a Touchpad, and an NCR 3125. I don't play games, but something tablet-sized is more useful than a phone for remote desktop and computer control/management applications; showing pictures, charts, video clips, and diagrams to other people; or use as an e-reader.

While I use notebooks more than tablets (and desktops more than either), I get more than enough use out of tablets to justify the cost.

I bought 10 ipads, and the screens broke after I walked on them a bunch of times. I'm going back to traditional stepping stones, like a rock.

So much for "Gorilla Glass." Maybe you need to put on *two* screen protectors instead of one.

Unless you're wearing stiletto heels. Then you should probably use four screen protectors.

We tried. We couldn't see inside the closet by peeking over the fence. OP mentioned some were on the fence, maybe they could see.
