I have no problem if someone decides that a smartphone is not for them. Hell, I have a smartphone but I'm certainly not willing to pay a fortune for it, I'm on the $30 Walmart plan (100 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited data with a 5GB 4G cap).

Well, there's got to be some reason for not using common sense. One reason is as good as another.

I never said anyone else should be considered a slave to technology if they in fact need and use all of the features of every gadget they carry around. Only that I would feel that way. And if you have been reading along the conversation was more about how having all of those technologies with me at all times would simplify my life when for me it would make things more complicated if anything. That doesn't mean it is that way for everyone.

Is that Walmart plan something currently available? That is getting around the level where I would consider jumping in.

Yea, it's on T-Mobile prepaid. You can activate any new t-mobile prepaid sim card online on it, but you can't move current accounts over.

I also highly recommend that plan if you use limited voice minutes. I have been pretty happy with it so far, as I prefer to buy my phones off contract.

Actually, I'll bet you did just that. I highly doubt that your phone has a magnet attached to a rotating arm in it. It's likely using the gps and map software to determine where you are and giving you a compass readout.

- Feng Shui Sleeping Direction
- When shopping for homes it can tell you what direction the backyard is facing. A westward facing backyard is more desirable.

Hmm, I never thought of the backyard thing. My backyard is westward facing. But I've got trees covering most of my backyard and the houselot behind me covers most of the property line with a 2 car garage. So I don't exactly get to see a sunset (assuming that's the reason).

It's desirable because the front of the house (generally) will be facing east. You leave for work through the front door, see sunlight. Get energy from the sunlight. You come home from work, you relax in backyard. Get more sunlight. The kitchen is also often situated in the back of the house which would be facing west. Get more sunlight while you make and eat dinner. Unless of course if you live in Seattle in which case you don't have to worry about it because there is no sunlight here :p
