Need help finding a good laptop for 2K or less
I will be using this laptop 6 days a week for 8-12 hours most days for work so I need something that doesnt overheat. I also need a decent screen and speakers as I will be using this for movies and music. I travel so a desktop isnt an option and I need something reliable, fast, and a good all around computer. I dont have to spend 2K so anything between 800-2K is fine.

Are there any downsides to macpros? Ive never owned one but I hear they are very different than "regular" laptops. Is there any coupons out there for theese?

I am sure there is I am just a complete newb when it comes to computers. I just need something that has a good processor (i play poker for a living so I have 15 screens up at all times+music+5 tabs or so for browsing), good speakers (listen to music 6 hours a day), good resolution, good size screen, doesnt overheat, and reliable.

Well, the better the processor, the shorter that battery length. So, how long on average will you have it running on the battery?

If all you are doing is playing poker and listening to music and browsing the internet, why are you needing a $2,000 laptop? seems like a somewhat basic laptop would be fine for you. core i5 or i3 even with good ram since you want so many windows open at once. or am I wrong in guessing what processing power your browser windows will require?
as a side note, I have read that if you constantly keep your computer plugged in it's actually better to remove the battery to help preserve it's functionality. Looking for deals on the following:

Maybe to give us an idea of what you need, tell us what you are using right now and what you like and dont like about your current setup?
If there isn't one, maybe consider an ultrabook? and does weight matter much? |

Top of the line HP from Costco will run you a lot less than $2k although I'm sure you could find it for less elsewhere.
But really, who the hell needs to spend $2k on a laptop!?!??!?!? |
