Vegas on a Budget - March 31 - April 5
A friend of mine is having a birthday celebration in Vegas. The celebration is taking place next weekend (Mar. 31 - April 1). Some people are arriving a few days before, but I wasn't able to do that (obligations at home/work). I'm arriving in time for the party on Saturday (soonest I could make it). On Sunday, everybody is flying out or driving home. I want to stay a few days longer and have a little longer break from work, even if I'm going to be on my own for those few extra days. It's a long way to go to only stay a day or two.
I am getting to Vegas by car, and all of my hotel nights at Paris are comped. So the transportation to and from town is taken care of, as is the hotel accomodation. This is kind of last minute planning so I don't have a big vacation budget saved up, and am looking for some fun yet reasonably economical things to do on my own, and maybe some good deals for restaurants (no 2 for 1 deals). If worse comes to worse, I can sip cocktails poolside all day long, but I was hoping to aim a little higher than that. I'll have likely had my fill of nightclubs, so I'm NOT looking for more clubbing.
Can anyone suggest some ideas for finding really cheap show tickets, or are there any good casino promos going on (has the Cosmopolitan $100 deal been extended past March 31st?) Or does anyone have any other suggestions for other kinds of affordable entertainment? Are there places where I can get ahold of useful coupon books? I've been to Vegas before, but it's been a while. I'm not interested in doing any out-of-town traveling while there (Grand Canyon, etc.). I will have an iPad and a mobile hotspot, so I will be able to get online once I'm in town.
