I went ahead and ordered the slim/thin model in this post. I did some research and the weight of the TV is about 20.5 pounds, so that seems fine. A potential problem is size (weight being light is one thing, but it may be awkward to try to carry something large). The thing that kills me is that I opted for ship to store free, to save on shipping. It took them days to ship it, then finally it went out using FedEx. ??? I thought it would go on a truck to Walmart with the other stuff and just be set aside on reserve. If they were just going to FedEx it - they could have saved the hassle and sent it straight to me. Even worse, it was scheduled for delivery yesterday - but at about 8:30 am there was a delivery exception. The reason stated: " Customer not available or business closed ". ?! WTF? It's a 24 hour freaking Walmart! So it's in limbo right now. I don't even know how I'm gonna get this thing. |

Good post, I was just in the process of posting this as well. Pretty good deal if you're in the market for a 32" TV.

Had my 32" for about 3 days now. For movies and games it is flawless. However, for word processing the thing is still making my eyes bleed like when I was using the scepter 40". The problem is that no matter how I adjust the settings I run into a couple of problems. To get the text dark, full, and clear enough to read painlessly I have to set the contrast, brightness and sharpness at their lowest settings (zero). The only problem is that the whites are too dark. In fact, the screen is so dark I have trouble reading the time and date in windows lower right hand corner.
Now if I go the other way I can get the brightness way up but then the black text is too thin and it creates a ghosting effect with the text. I went from a planar 27" to this. I was running that at 1920*1080 with no problems @ 60hz. I'm thinking that it's not so much the TV size that's giving me the problems than the TV settings. The blacks need to be darker and they need to contrast clearer with the whites. Does anyone have a TV around 32" or greater that they use for regular word processing? I was looking at the RCA 32" 1080p at wallyworld but based on the mixed reviews I think I might have more of the same. I just want a TV that I can enjoy my gaming but since I use the system for work the word processing comfort has to take priority. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated. Nevermind- I realized you didn't specify so I assume you meant the LED but it is the LCD one which was cheaper to begin with. For some reason it wasn't showing in my search results. |
