If you have the VISA Signature version of this card, then it is one very few credit cards that provides PRIMARY collision & theft coverage on rental cars. Meaning if anything happens, VISA steps up to as the primary insurer and would be the first to pay all damages up until the damage limit. Your personal insurance would be secondary. FWIW the Continental OPP card that I also have.. is the MasterCard equal of this card. It also provides the primary coverage. Read more about the PRIMARY coverage here:

Almost every credit card offers secondary coverage, but those plans kick in after your personal insurance pays out (and hence, you still end up with a claim dinging your record). However what’s so unique about this United Airlines card is that it offers primary coverage, which means it pays out first. Aside from United-Continental, I can’t think of any other airline branded cards which provides this.

The standard deal is "up to 40K" miles - 25 to start after purchase, 5k to have an authorized users, 10k more after you spend $25k. This is straight up 50k to start after first purchase + 10K for $25k bonus?

this beats having to do the "work around" that existed since the card came out to get the 50k (altho 60k after lots of spend). just used mine at b-dubs for wings and now it's going in the drawer!
