Xigmatek 200mm case fan rebate

In November, there was a free after rebate deal on Xigmatek 200mm case fan. I submitted the rebate and kept emailing the "account clerk" at Xigmatek to check the status on my rebate. It has been about 4 months and the last email I got is an automatic reply email saying that they are still processing November rebates! I wonder if anyone here got that rebate yet?

Xigmatek rebates are as close to a scam as you can get. They will happily ignore your emails and phone calls until you give up. Few people actually get the rebate, and that's only after repeated emails and a lot of luck.

It used to be that you could email a particular address and you'd get an actual human reply. That email now gets your autoresponders. Then, it used to be that there was a number you could call to get a live person. That number is now an unmonitored full voicemail dead end. The latest line that they're giving people is that the 12 week deadline is only a courtesy suggestion, and that they can only promise that it'll take at least 12 weeks.

If you bought it from Newegg, going through them is likely your only recourse. A coworker on mine bought the same Xigmatek before I could warn him and is going through the entire process right now. Newegg is stonewalling him and he just filed a BBB report against both Newegg and Xigmatek. BBB is a fairly toothless organization, but Newegg tends to respond to them. Xigmatek definitely will not.

Well, at first few emails, I communicated with a real person whose name is Christina at Xigmatek. What worried me is that the last email I and my friend got back is automatic reply. Since it has been more than 16 weeks, should I keep emailing and calling Xigmatek or contact newegg about this? Any other thing that I can try to get the rebates?

I finally got the rebate through Paypal after sent another email to the accountant. However, my friend hasn't received the rebate yet.

File a Better Business Bureau Complaint about Xigmateks business practices. What they're doing isn't right.

Well, I knew in advance Xigmatek was 'tight' with rebates, as I had to call on a previous offer to get them to send it out finally. So I gave them another chance in Nov on their BF offer for $20 back on one of their Gaia heatsink units.
I didn't know they're no longer actually responding to calls/emails like Huevos claims. I'm still not sure they won't come through, so I just sent off a 2nd email, still hoping they respond as it's been 4 months now...
I'll probably try Newegg and BBB if Xigmatek doesn't respond after this.

BBB won't hurt, but in general is pretty useless. As long as the company claims to have resolved the matter, BBB passed them on it.

Unfortunately back when I ordered my Xigmatek stuff (2-20-2011), there weren't any warnings about what a joke the Xigmatek rebates are (I had to learn it the hard way). My only hope is that my warnings on previous Xigmatek posts, may have stopped some of the folks here on Slickdeals from making the same mistake I did. On a side note, it doesn't appear that Xigmatek is currently offering any Rebates, maybe Newegg finally gave them an ultimatum about their B.S. Rebates.

Just completed the BBB complaint on Xigmatek. Gaia Cooler purchased Nov 23rd with a $20 rebate, and of course nothing from Xigmatek. Numerous emails with only auto-replies. Newegg has been (uncharacteristically) unhelpful on this one. Maybe my BBB complaints and posting in forums will save someone else from dealing with Xigmatek.

Has anyone received their november rebates yet except phalanx, the OP? It is now May, 20+ weeks from submission cut off, well beyond the 12 weeks allotted by the rebate form.

Yes... I started contacting Christina Fleck at the end of December and she said wait a month. So I started calling and emailing repeatedly at end of January. Voicemail box was constantly full (you could tell when it was because you'd get a generic message instead of "Hi you've reached Christina Fleck"). I think she was annoyed from seeing my caller ID so much so she finally answered the phone and gave me a line about how she wasn't supposed to do anything over the phone and I was supposed to email instead, even though she told me when I called last time to call.

Anyway, she said she'd get it out by end of week (gave her my paypal email).. didn't happen, sent a few more emails and finally got paid for the fans mid February.

Paypal has fees afaik for all received payments. Did they send it to you as a gift and thus fee free?

Yes, it was the same as a Staples Easy Rebate payment... which is to say, either it was a "personal transaction" and thus no fees, or it was something where they pre-arranged for there to be no fees (perhaps by paying them themselves). My guess (based on the level of "professionalism" here) is that it was just marked as a personal transaction. But yes, there were no fees for me.
