Thread Details

Expansys [expansys-usa.com] has the Belkin Share Max N300 Wireless N+ Router, model # F7D7301 which is a rebadged F7D3301. Router has a 4 port gigabit ethernet hub, 2 USB ports, and Belkin's so-called "MIMO". Reviews of the stock router are summarily horrible, but the hardware specs and DD-WRT + Tomato compatibility are worth a look.

$21.99 shipped, no tax except for Illinois. PayPal checkout available.

Hardware specs for v1:
Broadcom BCM4716 rev1
453 MHz CPU
8 MB Flash
64 MB RAM
2x USB 2.0
WPS Button

As of 5/17, all the routers shipped thus far have had a Gigabit switch.
There's no indication that expansys would ship you a different revision without a gigabit switch.

Wireless N requires WWM fyi for those that do not know.
I'm guessing that those who do not know also don't know what WWM is -- I don't at least...

Sorry, it should WMM. Wireless multimedia (A QoS for Wifi). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wire...Extensions

"Since WMM support is required for products to be certified for 802.11n, WMM comes enabled by default in all Wi-Fi Certified n APs and wireless routers. So even if you don't have any WMM-aware devices on your network, leave WMM enabled or you may find your clients connecting only at 54 Mbps rates."

I am getting about 54mbit/s sustain throughput over wireless N. Wireless N requires WMM fyi for those that do not know. It took me a while to find out.

About 5MByte/sec over USB. This is a a very nice router indeed. I got 2 more add a total to 4 routers for myself. Stick Out Tongue dirt cheap for wireless bridging and printer setup. Range is nice and doesn't run as hot as my WNR2000. FYI!!! This has the same chipset at the linksys e4200.
What's your range specs?

That's a bit small ain't it?

Edit: I guess 30ft would be too much?

I believe the newer Tomato builds have DHCP disabled on default.
That was it - I turned on DHCP and now I can get to the internet while I learn tomato.

Hi this is an odd request but would appreciate if someone can help me. I need to find out what the dimensions are of the box this router ships in and what the dimensions are of the actual manufacturer packaging is. (ie HxWxL)

Thanks!

unlockedshaders,

Can you recommend one of the other author builds that provide the extra kernel modules to support tethering an android phone to the router via usb? The toastman build and directory does not seem to provide these.

For those that used usb hubs with this router, did you use the unpowered one's or powered? Can you list some models you know worked with it?

Get some info:

That's all I've come up with, good luck.

EDIT: Actually, take a look at this table http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toma...comparison
A couple of the feature-filled builds seem to list 3G USB modem support.
