Its OOS, reminds me of my London days, once in 2000 we had severe summer, well the temperature reaches 90F that was very very severe for London.
So we don't usually use fans there but for that summer we need one and no stores stock more than 2-3 fans and within in few hours of one hot day made those fans sold out so we had to go some 50 Miles to some village store to get one stand fan. Seems like this summer will going to be severe and hot. |

I just got an email that they are unable to fulfill the order, but are offering a substitution. They said if I call customer service and give them my order number, they will sell me another fan at the same price. The replacement model is:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Lasko...&cp=1&l Anyone have one of those? Is Lasko a decent brand? I don't like the look of the Lasko as much as the Holmes, nor the fact that it's a 1 year warranty instead of 3, but for a fan I don't think either of those is a deal-breaker. I have a Lasko box fan that has worked well for several years.
I'm also not pleased about the shorter warranty. It's also heavier with a standard full base - one of the things I liked about the Holmes was that it has loop base that seems lighter and takes up less space. I'm also not sure it the Lasko is as adjustable as the Holmes, both in terms of the fan angle (the Holmes seems like it can point straight up) and the height (the Holmes seems like you can take out a stand pole and make it almost a floor fan). I do like the control for the Lasko as shown in a photo on Amazon: just a simple knob and not a huge dial that requires a full palm grip to turn. |

Yeah I got the same mail. I called them and that lasko was OOS as well. They gave me honey well tower fan SKU 8579521. I picked it up from local BBY but it sucks...Planning to return it. call them and see if you can score a better fan. They override the price of the fan but only the ones sold by bby not a market place item. Good luck

Link to tower fan: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Holme...Id=2075 I believe they may only be able to price match within certain limits. Didn't sound like I could get a $70-80 stand fan brought down to $20. |
