Harbor Freight Tools - Annual Manager's Blowout Sale This Weekend
Harbor Freight Tools is having its once-a-year Manager's Blowout Sale this weekend, Friday, March 30th through Sunday, April 1st. Save up to 76% off Harbor Freight's regular low prices!
Details: "We're emptying our California warehouses! Our store managers have been told to blow out this excess inventory by this weekend! Don't miss this rare opportunity for even more ridiculous savings. Once a Year! This weekend only!"
Sale valid through April 1st. No adjustments on prior purchases.
Sorry, I don't know what particular items will be on sale; I am wondering if perhaps it varies by location. If you need any tools, you might get some great deals at Harbor Freight this weekend.
Here in this household, it's getting tougher and tougher to find Harbor Freight items we don't already own! But usually we can find something worthwhile to buy at those several-times-a-year sidewalk sales. So I'm thinking positively about this annual sale, plan to visit this weekend.
Up to 76% off means their $1 tools that are marked up to $4 are now $1. But I'll stop by and see what they have. I'm sure it's junk. Would love to pick up an aluminum jack for around $40.
Some HF tools are decent for the $. For example item #903 (four adjustable wrench pack-6", 8", 10", and 12") can be purchased for $7 with 20% off coupon in magazine or internet. These do not have the nice finish or smooth action like my Snap On or Proto, but they will do the job without damaging the user or fastener if use as intended. The jaws are flat and parallel. I've applied up to 100 ft-lbs of torque on the 12" without any fuss. These value Chrome-Vanadium adjustables may not live up to the hammer-pounding like their more expensive forged counterparts, but then one shouldn't be using an adjustable to remove a frozen nut or bolt.
The $5 multi-meter (#90899) is another hidden gem. Accuracy from 1-125 V AC/DC is 1%. Two out of the three that I tested were good to within 0.5%. Units show 0.6 ohm with test leads shorted. The test leads add about 0.2 ohm of resistance. These are great for working around the house, car, and computer. Only limitation is the 2.5 sec sampling time...too slow to test oxygen sensor.
The key, IMO, if you're interested in HF is to watch for their ads in the Sunday paper (literally almost every week, with the Smart source coupons) and/or get on their email list. You'll get coupons almost daily.
As I get those printed coupons with the paper I save them. Going forward, if I start to think I have a need for something, I can see what they offered and for how little. For example, the 80 piece Rotary tool kit: in this "Manager's sale" it is listed reg $24.99, now $9.99. But in several other coupons they send out, it is $6.99. Another, their 145 watt solar panel kit. I've seen it range from $149 to $189 and up.
I love HF, but their marketing dept is taking too many steroids. Every day is something special, can't miss!!
If you're stuck, use the 20% off coupon. But, if you can wait and do a little homework, you'll do a little better.
Hi, dumpsterdiver, No, I wasn't aware of a dedicated HF thread. Thanks for letting me know, and in such a polite manner, too. I haven't browsed the coupon forum much. In general, coupons are way too much for me to handle; I'm not that disciplined or organized. Best wishes to you!
Edit: - Just noticed the reps; thanks so much, I appreciate it.
The only things I can recall buying from HF that weren't total and complete shit were the rolling tool cabinet from a couple months ago and a hydraulic pulley/ gear puller, and the gear puller handle broke as soon as I took it out of the box. Fixable, but still. Lowest quality products ever.
People who quote themselves probably shouldn't. If it were worth repeating someone else would do it.
I'm not too busy, I just don't care. At all.
