They are great phones, my comment isn't about that. They have a well through out and slick OS and I think they deserve to do well, they are however conditioning customers to expect free phones. As an example, you see a software product like something from Norton rebated down to zero, and you're less likely to purchase a future version at full price - you'l wait for the rebate. I'm interested in this phone because of the Carl Zeiss camera lens, which is supposed to make for a decent camera phone. It definitely won't replace my Canon S95 for shots of my newborn, but it'll be better than my HD7. |

Hero phone... most AT&T reps will be carrying them and will also be showing them to new customers.

I just posted this in the other thread but...
I know there is super hype around this device and it is sexy looking, but to me the Titan II is the device to get. After using the original Titan there's no way I could go back to a device any smaller than it's 4.7" screen. A comparison... Screen: Titan II: 4.7" S-LCD display. 900: 4.3" ClearBlack AMOLED display. This one is up for debate but I'm going to go with bigger screen on the Titan II. AMOLED is nice but the original Titan's S-LCD screen is pretty damn good itself. CPU: Titan: 1.5ghz Snapdragon. 900: 1.4ghz Snapdragon. Titan, just barely. Cellular: Both LTE. Even. Storage: 16gb for both. Even. RAM: 512mb for both. Even. Camera: Titan: 16mp rear wide-angle camera, 1.3mp front facing. Rear cam also includes red eye reduction, image stabilization, panoramic and burst shots. 900: 8mp rear Carl Zeiss (if that means anything, but based on the other Lumia devices it doesn't) camera, 1mp front facing. I'm gonna say Titan. Battery: Titan: 1700mAh. 900: 1830mAh. Nokia wins this one. Apps: Both OEMs offer their own selection of apps, and there's a lot of talk about Nokia Drive. HTC just released their own navigation app which actually has more features than Drive. This one is even because you can install those "exclusive" apps on any device, these should be not a selling point at all. To me, it almost seems like the Titan II is a no brainer. Of course this depends on if you think 4.7" is too big for you. I'm so used to the original Titan now I think I can go bigger. Another this that is important to me is homebrew support. So far both Nokia devices and 2nd generation HTC cannot be interop unlocked or have unlocked bootloaders. If I knew I would be able to install custom ROMs on one but not the other, that would probably be the biggest selling point. |
