Personal information compromised. What should I do? :(
Hello,
I recently discovered a virus on my computer and some very personal confidential information has been compromised including name, DOB, SSN, e-mail address, license information, debit card number and pin. When logging into my bank account, a form appeared that prompted me to enter this information. I had a temporary lapse in judgement and gave them this information. As soon as I realized what had happened I called my bank company and disabled my debit card and change my username and password.
I have also contacted all 4 credit bureaus (TransUnion, Equifax, Experian, and Innvois) to place a fraud alert on my file. I have also reviewed my credit reports and so far do not see any suspicious activity. I signed up for Credit Karma (thanks SD!) to monitor any changes.
I formatted the computer that had the virus on it so it should be clear. Is there any other security measures I can take to protect myself from identity fraud?
Thank you.
