After inserting the disc, you'll see an option to download the AC 1 under the AC Revelations icon. After downloading AC 1, you have to have the disc in the unit to play it.
There is a code that comes with AC Revelations, but that's for online play.

Ahh....thankyou. this is just like Dead Space 2 for PS3. Good thing I wasn't a big fan of part 1, otherwise I would put the effort to find the first batch of Revelations.

I specifically looked into this. It was harder than I expected to find a straight answer. But from all I could find, both do real 3D on 3D TVs and also red/blue 3D on regular TVs. But the PS3 version can do frame-packing 3D at full resolution, whereas the xbox does side-by-side or top-bottom 3D which sends half resolution to each eye. Not sure if the difference would be noticeable.

Are you sure it's not on the disc? From reviews I saw, it sounded like they used ~8GB of the extra space of the bluray to put the game on it. Maybe the download was actually just copying off the disc to your hard drive?

Thanks so much! Reps to you! I thought nobody else was even going to be interested in the topic of 3D across consoles on AC Revelations. I don't think I fully understand the difference between the 2 methods of 3D. Is it like how an active vs. passive 3D TV does things differently... the active TV shows the entire 1080p 3D frame once for each eye (with an active shutter closing for each) at half the TV's speed (like 60 Hz for a 120 Hz TV) vs. a passive 3D TV shows the left eye at 540i interlaced with the right eye at 540i (at 120 Hz for a 120 Hz TV)? Or is it something else? I have a passive 3D TV if that is a factor in this. I just want whichever version has the best 3D resolution and quality.

While I admit that I can't really tell much difference between an active or passive 3D TV in terms of resolution, the active does have higher resolution per eye, so if the PS3 provides 1080p to each eye whereas the Xbox 360 mixes 540i to each eye, then theoretically the 3D on the PS3 should be better even if most people couldn't see the difference. Is that right?

Still haven't bothered playing Brotherhood, yet. Too Much Backlog of Games and Books to read. Everyone should take one game at a time and enjoy it to the full extent, before buying the next one for either free or greatly reduced used prices. Don't fall for the Pre-order hype and overprice for a low quality game.

i am in the same boat as your...I got brotherhood for $10 off gamefly...now I picked revelelations up also. I have a feeling I should hold off and wait until it hits the $10 mark since I honestly don't need this game.

Regarding AC Revelations coming with AC 1 on the PS3, I'm fairly confused by the responses. I checked this matter in detail with Gamestop (Best Buy didn't know a thing about it). At Gamestop the employee showed me a preowned copy with a logo on the PS3 disc that shows AC 1 included. He then took a new copy (the ones that Gamestop calls new but opens up) out of the drawer and showed me that disc... it did NOT have the logo showing AC1 included. Google searching on this repeatedly found old articles mentioning that only the first wave of copies would have the AC 1 bonus.

Therefore, when I just read that someone bought AC 1 from Best Buy and downloaded AC 1 off the AC Revelations menu, that's a big "whoa" to me. Could someone please confirm if the newest batch of AC Revelations PS3 does indeed allow you to download AC 1 (or to "transfer" it off the Blu-Ray disc) in spite of not having the AC 1 included logo on the disc?

Being able to get AC 1 off the Revelations PS3 disc would be reason enough for me to keep the PS3 version over the Xbox 360 one, but if we add in the better 3D it would be a done deal. Fortunately I have both versions of AC Revelations in my possession unopened, so it's just a matter of deciding which one to return (within 30 days).

Anyone who is 100% certain on the AC 1 PS3 issue, please post. I'll be very grateful. Thanks!

Re: Amazon price matching, like everyone else I'd rather get it from them but I don't think they will. Not sure how it works with 3rd party vendors, even if fulfilled by Amazon, but I spot-checked and both AC:Rev and NFS:Run for PS3 are being sold by 3rd parties and not by Amazon. So not sure if they would be price matching.
