The amount of memory won't matter, the 64-bit interface and faster ddr clock would make this a much better card. This one could be used for light gaming, the Asus card is strictly htcp only. About the only use for the Asus card is for the hdmi port, as it's likely slower than most onboard video.

If you can afford to buy a game or two you can afford to buy a 4850 or gts 250 or the like for $50 or much less if used.

Yes this card would allow you to play some games @ a low resolution with the lowest settings.

Refurbs pop up all the time, geeks.com gets lots of older stock. Those cards would be many times better than that HTPC card for gaming. In retrospect I'm suggesting spending potentially twice as much, which is dumb from a monetary standpoint, of course that would be significantly better, however trying to play any somewhat recent game on on board graphics, on this level of discrete graphics will be painful for most people. Just trying to make that point known.
