The Seagate Expansion 3TB USB 2.0 versions have a 7200RPM 6GB/sec 64MB Cache Barracuda ST3000DM001 or Barracuda XT ST33000651AS from the inside. Not sure about the 3.0 version but i would assume they would either remain the same or get an upgrade

Great price. I bought one being delivered tomorrow from the Amazon Lightning deal for $159. Even with CA tax, this is a better deal especially after the $25 off coupon. Maybe I'll return the Amazon one to save the $35.
Wait, now it's $139 on Amazon too? So much for their "Lightning Deal". Will Amazon refund me the difference or should I just return and re-order from Staples... Last edited by darinf; 04-02-2012 at 12:52 AM.. |

if you return it back you have to pay shipping unless you claim the drive is bad (resets after 15 min of use or corrupt files etc). make sure you open the box if you claim defective product |

the price won't go any lower for a while.With the new IVY bridge CPU's to be released in 3 weeks the demand will spike with new builds.
