I did exactly this, and it wasn't as fast as I was expecting. You might be in for a letdown if you're expecting the SSD to make it perform like a MacBook Air.

It doesn't matter if that model was introduced in 2009, because the CPU, chipset and GPU in this aren't the same as what it came with back in '09. You could take the same model and just keep updating the CPU and chipset every few years and then it will still be a "current" model, it doesn't matter what year it was first launched. It's like if you take an old car and rebuild it with a new engine, transmission, etc - it will run just like a new car, and you can't compare it in any way to one that is 20 years old with 150K miles on it. The body style may be outdated, in this case the laptop's "form factor", but that's about it.
