you can make the same 3D photos with any camera. here's how:
1. compose your shot. This works best on subjects that have other objects around at varying distances. This helps give the illusion of depth. As a test shot, arrange some things on your desk or countertop.
2. Pick a subject to make your focal point. Center on this subject and take a photo.
3. Physically reposition the camera in the horizontal plane by 2.5 or 3 inches. This is the typical distance between your eyes.
4. Center on the same subject as before and take another photo. Now you have a photo for each eye.
If you can cross your eyes then you can put those two photos side by side and get the 3D effect. If you can't, then you can make a GIF that alternates between the two...also known as a shakeygram. I even found free software to combine two photos into 3D files viewable on 3D TVs and the 3D Fujifilm camera I had (W3). Photos that I shot using a Canon Powershot.
What software did you use? It's getting harder and harder to google for software without wading through tons of bogus download sites, garbage software, etc. Thanks
Before I had the Fuji W3, I did the single camera method. I thought it was interesting that I successfully used the software to make MPO files from two jpegs that was compatible with the Fuji. So I was able to view it on the 3D screen off of the fuji camera even though the image was made using a normal Canon Powershot. I thought it might be possible, if I ever had something worth printing, to upload it here http://www.seehere.com/catalog/pr...anding.jsp
It's so expensive per print, I never got around to committing to it though. These days it might be fun though, because i would think you would be able to view your 3D creations on a Nintendo 3DS which is much more accessible than the Fuji 3D photo viewer ($670!), 3D TV, or a Fuji 3D camera.
