I have the kreg jig system. If you ever need to do any type of wood work, pocket holes are awesome.

Used one of these to install a deck 2 summers ago with composite decking. It does slow you down but the end result is excellent.

You do not have to sink all of the screws at once. A straight 20' board length only needed 6 screws (2 on each end and 2 in the middle to hold it in place). We were able to fly pretty quick through the deck.

My nephew's project was to finish the rest of the drilling/screwing.

All stores that I checked in the Mid-Atlantic sill had it at $80. I think that is what we paid for it 2 years ago.

My only fear in buying it now (just to buy it), would be the future availability of the screws that go with it. You can't just use any screw. Their screws have a small head, about half the size of a normal decking screw.

If the screws were on clearance as well I would recommend buying them and the jig if you knew in the future that you would be building a deck.

Just wanted to chime in to agree with what you're saying.
I work with manufacturing companies from time to time, and no matter where you go (USA or China) the tooling costs are extremely high. Also Kreg doesn't use the kind of cheap crappy plastic that most Chinese-made tools are made out of. I'm not sure what grade of material they're using, but it's much higher quality than any plastics I've ever used in my products.

Why in the world is this deal on Front Page? A B&M YMMV deal with a very limited interested audience? Not a bad deal but definitely not FP material. Must be a slow day.

Good deal for great equipment, but definitely not FP because of the YMMV issue.

Maybe the mods realized it was a mistake and removed it?

This is a great product, don't complain about it if you've never built a deck and never used it. That said, I used this one (http://www.amazon.com/CAMO-Marksm...756&sr=1-1) on my last decking project and absolutely loved the results (at half the price).

Get the Camo Markman because it does not require pre-drilling... I believe the kreg requires a pilot hole to be drilled then the screw

For anyone that has ever used a Kreg product wouldn't complain about it.
