I have(and love) TV Live PLus(previous gen) as well and its great - plays everything i throw at it. Wish amazon was on it - but oh well, seems like everything else is though

Thanks for the free shipping tip! I have 3 WD Live Plus units in the house & paid around 60-70 dollars for those without the wi-fi adapter. The ability to stream and play downloaded content in almost any format is well worth the cost.

FYI: Refurb'd WD units include a 6 month manufacturers limited warranty.

Yes - it has the ability to play content from any shared/network PC. I use it with TVersity as a media server to store and share content from a central location.

I just had a seagate external hard drive plugged in through USB to the WD Live Plus & that worked great - so yes that should work on this unit also.
