Hey everyone - I'm looking for a quality HDTV that'll especially do well with sports. I had an LED for a short time and the blur effect was too much for me to overcome/get used to.
I'm thinking plasma may be better for my purposes but would like to get an outside idea of what would work best.
Some minimum qualifications:
720p (can be 1080p if it really makes a difference)
$600 or less
Needs to last for at least a few years
Shouldn't generate too much heat - I had a Panny plasma a few years ago that warmed up a 120 square-foot room in a hurry. Been hearing that heat has become less of an issue the last couple years.
Would be nice, but not a dealbreaker:
3+ HDMI ports, but fine with 2 if other features make up for it
Minimal "lag" when switching between 720p and 1080p broadcasts, if you're recommending a 1080p HDTV.
I don't need 3D; Smart TV sounds nice in theory but I understand I may just be better off getting a Roku.
