Home Theater Speakers - Replacing Bose Accoustimass 10
I am moving into a new house and am taking a larger room (14x19) for my office / home theater room. I'll have a projector hung and ~120" screen for watching movies / playing Xbox.
I've grown tired of the Bose Accoustimass 10 speaker system that I have had for a long time. Having to terminate the speakers to the tube thing, then cables from there to the amp is a PITA and the sound isn't that great IMHO.
I have a Yamaha HTR-5063 7.1 receiver and a Polk PSW 10' powered sub that I will likely keep.
I am hoping to find some speakers to replace this Bose mess. I would like to keep it around $200-$400 if possible. I am not looking for earth shattering sound, I'll likely rarely turn it up very loud. Surround sound is a must. I like the size of the Bose speakers but definitely looking to try something without the tube thing.
Any suggestions on what to buy and where from? Thanks for the help!
$200-$400 for 5 (maybe 7) speakers? Not likely if you value sound quality. Here is a good set of fronts though. If that is all you have, buy the fronts now and the others as you get money. Fronts and center are 95% of your sound so maybe blow your wad on those three and use the "no highs, no lows, must be bose" speakers for the rears and surrounds.
