That appears to be an exact copy of my Seiko Sportmatic 5... from 1966.

good price for an automatic. i bought this watch for $100 from amazon and had it for a while. kept time reasonably well, it was just kinda small.

The OP's has a stainles band. The one on Amazon you link to has a canvas band.

This watch is just a good, durable everyday work watch. The Seiko 5 movement is historically known to be nearly bulletproof. This watch is not really something you'd buy to wear for dress/fashion.

Idk about you guys but the two models being compared are not the same.

The SNK809 is a regular seiko 5 that's only 30m? water resistant.
While the OP's watch is the SNZG13 that is a seiko 5 "sport", around 40mm wide and is 100m water resistant.
The dials, markings and hands are different.

The OP's deal is actually VERY good because the canvas strap can be bought from our friendly singaporean/hk ebay sellers that sell seiko stuff for cheap.

If I were to buy the watch in the op, I'd rather buy an aftermarket black nato strap to go with it instead of a Seiko canvas strap. Goes perfect with the military/field dial.

Although $79 is a VERY good deal, I'll give the heads up on the stainless bracelet before someone comes back to bash Seiko. Some portions of the links are hollow pieces. There, that's done.
FYI, the only other large watchmaker that makes their own movement is Rolex. The rest of the swiss and even german manufacturers have to depend on swatch group for their ETA movements.

Now comparing the two seiko watches, you'll be getting more for the money with the OP's deal compared to the amazon savings of $10 from the girly sized SNK809.
You can go snorkling and diving at shallow depths with the SNZG13. The SNK809 is only guaranteed to be safe when washing hands/splashes only(but other seiko 5 owners have swam with theirs and it's fine).
