Just an update- my Seiko and Hamilton field automatic (circa 4x the price) arrived todag. I actually like the movement and face of the Seiko.better. Also appealing is the fact that I can wear the Seiko a little harder and not worry too much about beating it up.
Also discovered Bernhardt watches during this process for those of you looking for reasonably priced durable automatics.
My watch says 73S6B, i believe the 7S36 was made in 1990s and 7S36B calibre was made in 2006+.
Yeah the B could be around that time.I'm not too sure either, but the 7s36B's predecessor should be the A. Or maybe you're right with just 7s36 and no A. In the case of its sibling movement the 7s26B, there was an A variant, the upgraded B had some parts made of different material.
mine is 7S36C
Wow! I wonder what changed from the B variant to C??? I really don't want to search on the wus forums to find out as I have ISD(impulsive shopping disorder a.k.a. "whatever is the current hobby" hoarding disease). There are just too many watch pics to tempt me again.
This watch style/design for sure, didn't exist before 2003 so you can be sure that the 1st digit in your serial number is the year between 2003-2012. 0 being 2010, 1=2011, 2=2012, the rest go back to the first decade of the millenium like 3=2003 and so on.
Now any of you lucky to get the equivalent serial number for production date: 2008, August, # 8888 of xxxx pieces? The superstitious, especially in Chinese culture and feng shui say 8's are lucky.
I wore this watch to work for 3 days and I left it at home yesterday and I today I see it stopped running. I know automatic watches need movement to get charged but looks like mine stops if I don't wear it even one day.
My Invicta runs for days before it stops. Did I get a defective watch?
