I could not find coupon in my paper either. I have the ad however and it shows the glucometers for $30, but it shows a $30 rebate for them. It will be free, but if you can find the coupon could make $30 off of this.
Another good way to get a meter is to ask your local pharmacist if he/she has any coupons for free meters. They almost always will. Right now in my pharmacy (Kroger), we have Freestyle Freedom, Accuchek Aviva, Accucheck Advantage, Accuchek Compact, and One Touch Ultra 2 absolutely free. You ask for the machine and I hand one to you (no rebates or coupons). Any Kroger can give the Accucheks for free (we have a billing code). The others are coupons that I have collected and saved for customers that need them.
Remember, the money is in the strips. But it's good to be able to get second or backup machine for school/office/etc.
just my incite on this...i had gotten a free glucometer from cvs and i had thought the same thing that the strips would burn my wallet. However, some maybe most insurance companies give strips via mail order for a lower cost than retail or even free. I had called up my isurance company(caremark) and they said i would recieve FREE test strips(300 ct.), lancets(300 ct.), and alcohol preps for absolutely free every 3 months. check it out.
