Hotel minage is a great place to stay close to disney and relatively cheap.

Six flags is incredibly far from dland so get a good rental car. If you do end up at six flags make sure to eat at Big Wangs in Valencia and try their buffalo chicken quesadilla and spartan sliders.

The Grand Californian (http://disneyland.disney.go.com/g...ian-hotel/) is located in Downtown Disney and right next to Disney's Californian Adventure park. It's a wonderful place to stay since you can enjoy either park and slide right into your hotel room without much fuss.

Do both parks, as they both offer something different for everyone. Bonus tip: at any concession area that serves soda from a fountain dispenser, you can ask for a cup of ice water, which they will gladly give for free. It's an amazing way to cut costs and stay hydrated during your visit.

Magic Mountain will probably be a couple of hours away, depending on traffic, but worth a visit. With all their thrill rides, your son will probably enjoy it more than you. You might find pre-printed discounts on cans of coca-cola but I'm not sure if that's a summer special only.

Current Disney promo in southern california is 99$ for 2 day 2 park ticket. not too bad of a price.
Magic Mountain promo, but a ticket, get a season pass.

4 days in disneyland may be intense. Maybe 2 in disneyland, 1 in CA Adventures, 1 at 6 flags.
Maybe consider getting a hotel in the suburbs, (Glendora, San Dimas 210 and 57 freeway) they are about 30-45 minutes from both 6 Flags and Disney. Parking is about 12-15$ per day at the parks. You will be needing a car anyways, so its not that big of a deal.

Google offers is currently offering knotts berry farms tickets (57.99 for 2 people) May be worth checking out

Get your tickets from Costco. It's been a while but I remember it being like $55 per person - Parkhopping pass

Disneyland is SO EXPENSIVE. Beyond belief. Southern California has SO MUCH more to offer than Disneyland. There's 6 Flags, Knotts Berry Farm, Lego Land, Sea World, ect...

If you do go to Disneyland you must see "wonderful world of color" It is by far the best show I've ever seen... better than any Vegas show.

I have stayed there I would say try crowne plaza on hotwire- almost same price but lot better. As far a tix go there are places near disneyland that sell tix much cheaper look at Craigslist of LA disney resorts are way over priced

I've stayed at the Castle Inn which was great for walking distance. I'd stay there again.
Compare ticket prices to those at Grocery stores in the GC section, you may be able to save a few bucks.

Food and souvineres are expensive in the park. We've gone outside of the park for lunch and even brought snacks & sandwiches in. Next time, we'll go back to Castle Inn for lunch and a nap, then back to the park for the evening.

I also recommend a backpack and comfortable walking shoes. My MIL said she walked just over 16 miles at DL this weekend.

decided to go to disneyland too because of the jetblue sale. Can anyone recommend cheap hotels?
