Sony Blu-ray Disc Remote Control for PlayStation 3 $15 + Free shipping

This is the redesigned (new) version of the PS3 remote. I own both the previous version & I picked this one up during the december sale for it @ this price.
If you already own the previous one, there are a few reasons that you might consider getting this one.

Play, stop, & pause have all been redisigned and the play button is now the only large button so accidentally hitting stop when you meant to hit play or pause is less likely now. This is applicable to non java based BR discs that won't store & allow you to resume playback...forcing you to ffd & jump through all the opening promotions and what-nots.

It also adds control for TV's (includes a large list of codes for non-Sony TVs) you can program in the code for your TV.
It also adds control for your SONY Home Theater/Amp system. This one is NOT programable- works with Sony only. (but I happen to use a Sony HT so it was a nice pick up).
They added a 3D button on the remote. I don't have a 3 capable TV hooked to the PS3 so IDK how much faster that makes switching things, I'm just noting it's a new addition.
They have added Instant replay which may go back a little farther than you desire (15 seconds) but it's a vast improvement over the old model having to rewind and try and not go to far. I've never used the instant forward button so IDK how far it goes forward (seems kind of curious but I'm sure it's either got a use (other than for movies) or they just put it there to make the remote buttons symetrical :shrug: (JK)...
Ch +/- and Vol + mute for both for the TV & the Sony receiver you switch between by pressing one of the three device buttons on top.

The overall design in button layout is better IMO, though backlighting is still not there and would have been nice although it's quite easy to learn the keys for blind operation. It's not as tall or thick as the first; it also feels balanced in my hand like the fist one did. This uses AAA instead of AA like the first. Along with the slimmer design it's about 3-4" longer than the older model and uses almost the entire front side for buttons

How did I do a price match with Amazon?

No, I've never done a price match at Amazon. I see the link on Amazon's page that says "found a lower price" but I think that's just for them to monitor the market. It doesn't look like I'm asking for a price match by clicking on that link.

I also bought this when in it was on sale last December. I can't recommend it enough. It truly makes the ps3 feel like a legitimate media device. I won't regurgitate what's already been mentioned, but if you watch a decent amount of media through the PS3, this is an abosolute necessity. It's especially helpful to the non gamers who use it.
