Thank you so much for this deal...however blockbuster has such a horrible reputation, I am having trouble believing that they won't find a way to screw the end user as they have done to so many people in the past.

Sorry for the decent employees that lost their jobs but really hated this company.....have you actually tried this new membership?

I signed up when a 2-month free offer was posted on SD a couple months ago (may still be valid but the thread was removed for some reason). The website is pretty easy to use, it has your billing date in your profile so you know when to cancel by, easy cancellation through their website and people were able to sign up using gift cards so they couldn't be charged in the future.

I'm with you in hating Blockbuster, but this was pretty much stress free.

This exact deal made front page and 75 thumbs up last time it was posted, about a month ago

I did some research online and there are several more horror stories about blockbuster.... Here is an interesting one.

Now take it with a grain of salt as happy customers seldom complain, however pages of complaints (recent ones at that) simply should not be ignored!

I used Blockbuster Total Access a couple of years ago when there was a bug that was supposed to give 3 months. They did end up canceling all the free trials at the end of the first month, but I was OK with it as it was expected. They ended up giving me an extra free month at the end of it. But with that said, I enjoyed my experience with it. I thought about going with them if I ever decided to go with a service like this. Especially since they didn't charge extra for blu-rays and I didn't really care about the streaming. Plus I got my movies fairly quickly. Usually I would mail the movie off and get my new one within a couple of days. Though I may have just gotten lucky with the vicinity of the hub. I haven't tried Netflix, but they haven't been the greatest, lately, with charging more for blu-rays to the debacle with slitting the streaming from the mail service.

I'm wondering if I can get in on this free trial since I've moved since my last free trial. I thought about trying a free Netflix trial, soon, as I'm planning on moving again, and seeing if I can get another free trial after I move.

This is 3 times now you've threadcapped my post. Are you always this redundant and condescending? We get the point that you think they're shady. Why do you feel it is necessary to repeatedly threadcap this post? Do you think everyone is so incredibly stupid that they didn't "get you" the first 2 times? Just additional information to give people a full idea that blockbuster is crap. I did not realize that you felt as if this thread was a part of your identity it is nothing personal against "your post"!

Obviously, he has issues and wants some attention. Some people simply crave the "rep points". If this was already posted, he posted again because some people base their self esteem on thumbs up! This is NOT a good deal. If you ignore him he will go away but more importantly it won't bump this thread so that he has the chance to get the attention that he is so desperately seeking.

I posted because I felt this was a good deal for many people. I was not looking for reps or attention, but whining 3 separate times is ridculous. If you don't like something, fine. But quit whimpering --- it's just childish, and defending this action is no better. You can justify whatever you like, but 3 threadcaps from the same person is excessive at best. If you had checked the link I posted, you'd see that this was posted well over a month ago, not recently, and that it was front page. Apparently MANY people disagree with you.

Just got done with a free 90 day trail. They are a lot slower then they used to be on shipping and after closing just about every block buster around my area I can't even do local trade in. Not worth it anymore... I dont think they will survive 2012.
