Well my voicemail stopped working so I had to call at lunch anyway. Pretty easy, they just switched my plan over with no fuss, same price, same features, etc.

check that they didn't extend your contract to 2 years from now

..apparently they "locked in" my rates (load of crap), at some point and I verbally agreed to it.

Haven't moved on since there's no one better in the area, and Verizon 4G LTE isn't deployed in my area (yet) either, so that's not even an option.

I hate the monopolies in this country.

it's happened to me before with T-mobile - I was on a 500min plan with 5gb of data, and I changed to a 500min plan with 2gb of data - the data portion was an add-on, which should not have affected the date, but apparently the voice plan that I was currently on was not compatible with the 2gb data plan (wtf?) and they extended the contract by 2 years from the date of the data change, since I changed the voice plan (from 500 min to 500 min, which I didn't notice until later) - I wouldn't expect AT&T to have much better CS

But with cell phones (IN THE US) everything pivots on your contracts because that is the one piece of leverage we have...in that we get cheap subsidized phones. We don't have to pay $650 for the newest iPhone because we can just sign a new contract.'

Anyway...I think that is something AT&T is pretty straight forward with...yes, there CS is a pain...but I've never had an issue with moving around the features for which I am paying.
