But a feedback from Newegg stated BSOD still happened even with the latest firmware that makes me scared.
"I build computers for clients, 3 of 4 failed with BSOD errors. Checked Event logs and found Drive Controller Errors. You can apologize all you want OCZ, you lost me for good. Flashed with the lastest firmware, motherboards new and BIOS latest. AHCI enabled, Chipset drivers latest from Intel and AMD. Failed again with fresh Windows 7 OEM disk on all three had different hardware and disks to load windows. All BSOD and some wouldn't see the SSD in the BIOS. I thought Sandforce 2281 issue but I got another Muskin 2281 working perfect for almost a year now no issues. Paying more for Intel 520 series or Crucial M4. two brands you pay extra for quality and well worth it." |

I own this same Vertex 3, purchased it on Black Friday (or was it Cyber Monday?) in November, and it's my primary drive. Have been using it for six months without a hitch!
If you get a BSOD, like with any SSD, always update the firmware. Still got a BSOD? Then get a refund. Having an occasional lemon doesn't warrant bashing an entire brand, your data should ALWAYS be backed up. (FYI Mushkin and Intel's 520 use Sandforce, just like this OCZ drive.) |

it is my primary drive as well - genuinely a WORLD of difference from a regular disk drive. never have seen such a difference on any other computer upgrade. |
