Sorry to bring up an old thread, but to anyone looking to put solar power in a shed I hope my post may be of help...
I will be erecting a new shed, and due to permitting issues, will be using solar power. I already have an extra battery and an inverter so I will just need to get the harbor freight solar kit http://www.harborfreight.com/45-w...68751.html It is priced at $229 but is usually on sale for $189. They have a coupon every so often that lowers the price to $149 (check eBay). This may seem expensive for what will essentially be used just to power lights, a fan, and battery chargers, it is a realitivly easy and stress free (compared to the local building/permitting dept) way to get power to my soon to be built shed. Plus, I can always expand the system for more power in the future. My inspiration for this project along with more details on a solar powered shed can be found here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3A...ata_player Disclaimer: always be safe when working with electricity and no I do not work at harbor freight. |
