You called 2 people "liars" and then you say, "I don't know why you want to argue so bad."... Unless you own the laptop, making assumptions on it does not give you the authority to call people "liars". BTW, to anyone who purchased this particular build, do the fans make a lot of noise during web surfing, typing docs, or gaming? Also is it worth upgrading from my current laptop? Toshiba Satelite L655-S5116 AMD Turion II P540 Dual Core Clocked @ 2.4ghz 4 GB Ram AMD Radeon HD 6250 1366 x 768, 16" display

Yes and no. Fans crank up as the machine runs hotter. Typing docs, it shouldn't get too loud. Web surfing, maybe, depending one how much CPU you're chewing threw. Games will quite likely crank up the fan speed. It has intakes from a number of locations, and an exhaust port on the left-side (rear). That's where your noise will be heard. Though I have to say that, even playing games, I don't really notice it. Your mileage may vary though...
On the other hand, whether they are $900 better is another question... How much is eye-candy worth to you? What do you want to do with it? FYI: HP has been selling the laptops, at about this price point, for over a year. With regular sales noted on slickdeals every few weeks/months. I'm sure at some point, better hardware CPUs and graphics chipsets will become available, to say nothing of more RAM. It's all a question of how soon do you want it, and how much do you want? Computers, laptops included, rarely become more expensive as time marches forward. Though how much computing power you can buy per dollar does increase frequently. |
