I've had FIoS for over two years and am bothered that they consistently have new offers for new customers but nothing for current ones. I tried talking to a CSR but nope, not even a monthly discount. I was thinking of canceling (under my name) and have my roommate sign up under his name as a new customer. Anyone tried something similar and remember how long it would take for the switch of service?

I think a few months back many people did that for the $300 Amex card deal.
just remember first sign in the new contract and then cancel the old one.

you have gotten the new service installed first and then canceled the old one. also the new service should be under new name, i.e. your spouse, roommate, etc, to make it work
