Yep I don't like the sound of "sequel." I say, "gooey" and "S-Q-L." Most people do say "sequel" though, but at least we are supported by the fact that our way is the official way [wikipedia.org].

I use both, whichever rolls out of my tongue first. But I've heard less and less gooey. I noticed people just call it the interface now. I'm right 97% of the time. Who cares about the other 4%

I've always said S-A-T-A but in a recent computer-related video I heard the guy say the word sata (say-tuh). Which is more common?

p.s. I say gooey but that's because I use a program called MeGUI a lot and I don't ever feel like calling it MeG-U-I

Yes, all the time. I can't think of a time when I didn't hear it that way.

That is, if someone was going to call it "PATA", rather than just "ATA" or "IDE".

Haha for me I am fine with saying "Sahtuh" but I cannot say "Skuzzie" (SCSI). Sounds like some kind of Furby laugh out loud

. I always say "S-C-S-I" like how I say "G-U-I" but I say "A-T-A" but then don't say "S-A-T-A" but "Saahtuh".

I'm very weird with my acronyms. laugh out loud

I have actually never heard anyone pronounce PATA out letter for letter, but "Pahtuh" like "Sahtuh", but IDE and ATA are pronounced letter for letter. Never heard anyone say "Ideee" or "Attttttaaaaaa". laugh out loud

I've always pronounced SQL letter for letter. I have never once said sequel. Anyone know someone who pronounces HTML some other way, like HAYT-MUL or something? laugh out loud
