It's still a hard drive that spins with an SSD so it will still mess up the platters if drooped. These are great for your USB External Enclosure but if your that hard on them you need a full on SSD Drive.

In for one. Just had placed an order for the Mushkin one and saw this had 3x the storage, so canned the Mushkin. I know this will improve battery life a little, but was looking for improvemnts like a pure SSF. Anyone with any comments?

Cancelled my order, read about significant decreases to battery life on Amazon for the same drive. Reordered the Mushkin 240 Gb.

I bought this drive for $150 from Amazon and posted the deal at SD on 3/26/12. Thus far $150 is still the cheapest price for Californians.

Interesting question for MBP/Bootcamp users with the 2nd gen XT drive.

For PC users, big improvements can be seen on the third boot according to this review [hardwaresecrets.com]. The graph shows benchmark scores approximately double to triple on the third round.

I plan to install fresh copy of Windows 7 on my 3.5 year old HP laptop this weekend so I won't know how it performs until then. Any SD'ers want to share results on their MBP and/or PC?

Seagate Disk Wizard on a desktop computer.
Pulled the Sata Cables from the drives in the case and used them for the cloning.
Make your boot disk first before you disconnect everything for the clone job.

Yep, just got my drive today. I'm using Seagate Disk Wizard [seagate.com].

NOTE: Do not use the normal Windows interface. I tried it 3x and it didn't work. Instead, install the Bootable Disk Wizard (USB, CD) and boot to that interface.
