New Video Card
Hello, I'm needing to buy another video card soon since the one I have is messing up on my (code 42 and blue lines on the screen). My current video card is an 8800 GTS 512mb, what would be a good video card for me to upgrade to. I have not read up on video cards since that one so i have no clue what ones are good. Thanks

what games are you playing, and at what settings/resolution? also budget?

It's not all inclusive, but it is a good starting point. They review a lot of hardware too, so you can check through their benchmark pages. |

I play some games, but the only ones i'm playing right now right counter strike, lord of the rings online, and a platform game.
My budget would be in the $200-300 range, but could go a little higher if needed to |

You can pretty regularly get a Radeon 6850 for $120 after a mail in rebate. a 6870 will cost $10 to $20 more. Both of those are quite powerful I think. I'm not too savvy on the GeForce card prices Looking for deals on the following:

Neither of them require that much, but those are the only games i'm playing right now. I might play others later on. But mostly i watch movies and tv show on my computer, and use it for college homework

Great card i just got the 570 used for $230. I to am a fan of the Geforce. I haven't gotten a ATI card since they required you to have the .net-framework It was just to damn buggy for me.

Yeah i like geforce too, the last ati card i had was an 9800 i believe (agp). I did not know they required you to have .net, i know some games do.

Now XFX answers my support ticket and wants me to send it in for rma. After i buy the gtx 560 ti of course.

The 8800? Your better off getting a new card anyway. Try to sell it after they fix it.

yeah, but that's my luck. I say i will keep it around for a back up since i have no spare pci-e video cards around just an agp one
