i rebooted everything...but found out the netgear n300 is a DSL router/modem, will not work as a cable modem...

Is this router any good? Can't go wrong with the price but I am trying to justify upgrading to a dual-band simultaneous as my current Linksys isn't simultaneous.

Had it about 1 week now. So far, its great. No issues with my HP Touchpad either. Has some fancy features like guest log in which lets guests log into your network like at an internet cafe (the SSID looks like an open network but you need to enter a password via web browser to get web access; a useless feature for me but gets some cool points). As for media streaming, haven't tried it yet so cant comment on the network speed. Hopefully it fits my needs for the next 4-5 years.

I originally wanted the USB port to hook up a portable hard drive but I've heard that they don't always work that well and your better off getting a stand alone NAS or media hub for the added money.

Hopefully someone who has had it longer can add their 2 cents.

Just buy mine off ebay. I already put DD-WRT on it for you.

If this is your router...

...then it does not have a built-in modem and should work to share the connection from both cable and DSL modems.

Correct me but the AMEX twitter $10 off credit is just one per AMEX account, right?
